Description:
Two-story lime stucco over brick building whose architectural style has been described as Vernacular with Greek Revival influence. Outside granite steps provide the only access to the courtroom at the rear of the second story. Other features include granite steps, cast iron balustrade, hip roof, and four chimneys. 
Historic Significance:
Crawford County was formed in 1822 and its county seat, Knoxville, was chartered in 1825. This 1852 seat of county government was the third built in Crawford County. It dominated the town square during Knoxville's most significant historical period, which lasted until the railroad was constructed a mile away at what later became Roberta.
