| The museum is a log cabin housing artifacts, books and memorabilia of Joel Chandler Harris and his famous Uncle Remus stories. The cabin sits in a small landscaped park known as Turner Park. |
| Historic Significance: |

| Joel Chandler Harris was born near Eatonton and worked on Turnwold Plantation. The site of the cabin was part of the original home place of Joseph Sidney Turner, who was the model for the “little boy” in the stories. The cabin was built from two original slave cabins from Putnam County. |
