| Historic Significance: |
The Gordon Depot was constructedin 1885 and holds a prominent place in Gordon's history. It replaced the depot built in 1855 that was burned by Sherman's man Davidson on his famous March to the Sea. As a site on the Civil War driving tour; it is also significant in the fact that 150 railroad cars and 10 locomotives were destroyed here during the war. Visitors to the City of Gordon's 1885 Depot and Railroad Museum will see artifacts from Gordon's railroad and city history, which include and 1840 Savannah Gray Brick Wall and a renovated Red Caboose. The Gordon Depot was also the featured in a 2006 film, My Christmas Soldier.

| The Gordon Depot freight room is available for meetings, receptions, weddings, and other events through Gordon City Hall. The Railroad Museum occupies the Agent's office and the two waiting rooms of the Depot. |
