PRESERVATION IN ACTION...

All over Middle Georgia, various organizations, volunteer citizens and local governments are saving treasures from the past. Many projects have been completed already, and more are currently underway. This section of the HPAC Directory is designed to highlight some of the projects especially those that are in process. As you will see, these "restoration" projects are very varied and can range from archeological sites to 1950 structures, and everything in between. As anyone who has worked on a Historic Preservation project can attest to, it's never easy. There is no magic process. Each project takes hours of work to find funding, sell the idea, project manage the contractors and volunteers, and then find more funding! But as you see these projects take shape, hopefully we can all agree, it was worth the effort. We will try and keep this section up to date as work on the projects proceeds.
