WELCOME to the Middle Georgia Historic preservation Directory!

This web site has been created to provide a single location in which to gather data, tools, ideas, projects and events related to Historic Preservation. The Regional Development Center of Macon facilitated the development of this site whose content was provided by the members of the Historic Preservation Advisory Committee of Middle Georgia. The members of this council, representing 11 counties and 22 cities, are dedicated to preserving the rich history and heritage of the Middle Georgia region.

Here you will be able to find:

• Education and Resource data about Historic Preservation. As well as frequently asked questions and answers, this sections provides contact information and links to many valuable organizations and sources which deal with preservation and related issues
• A Preservation Events list covering seminars, training, tours, conferences and celebrations all related to preservation in Middle Georgia
• Heritage Tourism suggestions. This section is designed for the Heritage Tourist. Initially a gathering of interesting historic locations and sites, this section will eventually include itineraries for planning 1 or more day trips covering these locations.
• Preservation in Action, which highlights projects in progress or recently completed that are preserving the priceless heritage of Middle Georgia.
